Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Senior Central Sterile Tech to join our 12-bed OR unit, leading sterile processing with a focus on quality and patient safety. The role entails coordinating staffing, providing training, and ensuring compliance with AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CRCST and BLS certifications, five years of relevant experience, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of relevant experience with previous leadership experience.
• CRCST certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments.
• Provide orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Perform evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure quality of services and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Perform sterilization of instruments and patient care equipment per guidelines.
• Operate department equipment safely and document sterility checks.
• Manage clerical tasks and supply stocking for the department.
• Assist OR Coordinator with staff education and in-services as needed.
• Identify process improvements and monitor vendor activity.
