Job summary

Canaan Senior Service Center is seeking a reliable van driver to provide safe, friendly transportation for older adult members. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, cleanliness, and efficient routing in a busy program.

Responsibilities include transporting participants, assisting with mobility needs, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining logs. A CDL and English proficiency are required; CPR is a plus. Benefits include medical coverage, vacation/sick time, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in driving, including transit/senior transport is valuable.
• CPR certification is a plus.
• Valid CDL required or endorsements as applicable.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport older adults to and from the center and to other destinations.
• Ensure passenger safety with seat belts, mobility aids, and safety devices.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic daily inspections.
• Complete daily passenger logs and record contributions from participants.
• Assist in scheduling routes and manage on-time arrivals.
