Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America seeks a senior operations leader to oversee cement plant production, maintenance, quality, and safety. Qualifications

• Project management or major capital project experience preferred.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for leading and managing cement plant operations and all related services, including production, maintenance, quality, while ensuring compliance with labor, safety, environmental, and corporate policies and regulations. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Operations, this role is based in Nazareth, PA and will play a critical role in driving operational performance and long-term plant success.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead safe, reliable, and efficient daily cement plant operations.
• Build a high-performing team through clear expectations, accountability, coaching, and development.
• Drive operational improvement initiatives by prioritizing opportunities, solving complex challenges, and executing sustainable solutions.
• Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and labor standards.
• Manage budgets, resources, production planning, and plant performance to achieve operational and business objectives.
• Develop long-term stay-in-business (SIB) and improvement CAPEX strategies to support a sustainable and competitive future.
• Foster strong partnerships with corporate support functions, sales, logistics, union leadership, and local stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Alternatively, a proven track record of leadership within a cement manufacturing environment in production, maintenance, or plant operations.
• Extensive cement industry experience with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, reliability, and plant operations.
• Demonstrated leadership success in challenging operational environments, with the ability to drive change, improve performance, and build trust across the organization.
• Strong ability to prioritize competing demands, make sound operational decisions, and execute effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment and building productive labor-management relationships.
• Proven ability to lead from the front through a visible field presence, engaging employees, identifying issues firsthand, and driving accountability.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, continuous improvement, and team development.
• Project management or major capital project experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This role operates within an outdoor, heavy industrial cement plant environment with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and large mobile equipment. The successful candidate must be comfortable spending significant time in the field and engaging directly with plant personnel. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
