Partner with the Plant Manager to lead safe, reliable, and efficient cement manufacturing operations, coordinating priorities across all departments. Drive plant performance across the cement manufacturing process, using measures such as kiln availability, clinker and cement production, specific heat and power consumption, and overall equipment effectiveness to identify opportunities and deliver measurable improvements. Lead and develop supervisors and department leaders, setting clear expectations, strengthening accountability, and building the capabilities needed to operate successfully in a continuous manufacturing environment. Coordinate production and maintenance priorities, including planned shutdowns and turnarounds, to improve equipment reliability and execute work safely and effectively. Champion a strong safety and environmental culture, reinforcing safe work practices, supporting incident investigations, and maintaining compliance with applicable requirements. Drive continuous improvement and process optimization, partnering with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other plant teams to improve throughput, energy efficiency, reliability, quality, and operating cost. Support operating and capital planning, using production and financial data to understand performance, manage costs, prioritize investments, and turn performance gaps into clear action plans. Step in for the Plant Manager when needed, providing decisive plant-wide leadership during operating issues, off‑hours events, and other situations requiring management direction.
Demonstrated ability to lead leaders and cross‑functional teams while building a culture centered on safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Broad understanding of cement manufacturing or comparable heavy‑process operations, with the ability to connect production, maintenance, reliability, quality, and environmental priorities. Ability to understand and improve complex manufacturing processes, including interpreting plant operating data and translating performance trends into practical corrective actions. Working knowledge of process‑control and maintenance‑management systems, with the ability to use plant systems and operating data to support decisions. Capability to lead through plant disruptions, shutdowns, and changing operating conditions, coordinating employees, contractors, and technical resources while keeping safety and business priorities aligned. Sound financial and business judgment, including the ability to evaluate operating costs, budgets, performance variances, and capital investment opportunities. Ability to collaborate effectively across plant functions, engaging people at the frontline, supervisory, technical, and leadership levels to solve problems and deliver results. Technical education in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent technical and operational capability developed through cement manufacturing experience.
This position is based in a heavy industrial cement manufacturing facility and requires regular presence throughout the plant, including production, maintenance, and outdoor operational areas.
