Deep Origin Inc. in South San Francisco is seeking a hands-on Senior Research Associate to build and run cell-based assays and engineered cell lines for drug discovery. You will own bench execution, shaping assay strategy in collaboration with a senior scientist in R&D.

The role emphasizes maintaining mammalian cell lines, CRISPR editing, and generating validated stable lines to feed AI and physics-based design. Commitment to quality and reproducibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in biology or related field or equivalent
• Hands-on laboratory experience with mammalian cells and aseptic technique
• CRISPR gene editing: knockout and knock-in with validation
• Transient transfection and generating stable cell lines
• Cell-based assay readouts: flow cytometry, viability, reporter or proliferation
• Data analysis, assessing assay quality, clear communication
• Commitment to lab safety and accurate documentation

Responsabilités

• Mammalian cell culture under strict aseptic conditions
• Genome engineering with CRISPR/Cas editing
• Design and validate knock-in strategies and donor design
• Genotype edits by sequencing and qPCR/dPCR
• Generate stable lines, perform clonal selection and banking
• Develop and run functional cell-based assays
• Analyze dose–response data and assess assay quality
• Keep electronic lab notebook up to date and present results
