Job summary

Codebreaker Labs is seeking a director-level scientist to lead high-throughput functional genomics using CRISPR in demanding human cell models, including primary T cells and iPSC-derived systems.

You will mentor a wet-lab team, set scientific direction, and stay hands-on when needed, while partnering with computational biology and ML colleagues to generate AI-ready datasets for downstream analysis.

Qualifications

• PhD with postdoctoral and/or industry experience in immunology, genomics, or related field.
• Hands-on expertise establishing and troubleshooting difficult human cell models.
• Deep experience with CRISPR-Cas9 or related genome-engineering in human cells.
• Experience designing high-throughput screens and large-scale cell-based experiments.
• Strong ability to generate reproducible assays and high-quality datasets.
• Leadership and mentorship experience; able to lead a wet-lab team.

Responsibilities

• Own design and execution of high-throughput functional genomics programs using CRISPR in human cells.
• Build and optimize culture/engineering workflows for demanding cell models, including T cells and iPSC-derived systems.
• Develop scalable workflows spanning engineering, perturbation delivery, phenotyping, sample processing and data capture.
• Design and execute pooled/arrayed genetic screens with emphasis on reproducibility and throughput.
• Apply high-dimensional phenotyping, including single-cell methods, flow cytometry and multi-omics.
• Lead and mentor wet-lab staff, maintain rigor, pace and ownership, while contributing at bench level.
• Collaborate with computational biology/data science/ML to produce AI-ready datasets.
• Use AI tools for planning, analysis, documentation and workflow automation; drive efficiency.
