Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Civil Eng Tech/Construction Management with 10 years of progressive experience.
  • Florida PE license required.
  • Minimum 6 years of major road/bridge construction experience.
  • Experience directing complex construction engineering administration and inspection programs.
  • Attend CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass exam.
  • FDOT Advanced MOT training.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of highway construction materials, methods, and equipment; solid math skills (algebra, geometry, trig).
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary QA/QC team and develop QC programs.
  • Mentor staff and assign daily tasks; monitor progress.
  • Resolve technical problems and ensure compliance on inspections.
  • Provide direction on roadway design, traffic systems, materials testing, and testing procedures.
  • Support FDOT project needs and maintain project schedules.

As a Senior CEI Project Engineer, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of QA/QC team members to create QC programs while training and mentoring staff and delivering and assigning team tasks daily. You’ll challenge yourself by reviewing and resolving technical problems and ensuring compliance on inspections and activities of all quality related work. You’ll help keep our company connected and we’ll support you with what you need to be successful. Excellent opportunity for a Senior CEI Project Engineer to join our FL FDOT team. This is a senior level position overseeing higher level inspectors and engineers in functional areas such as construction inspection and surveying; scheduling and status; roadway design; traffic signal equipment; traffic signalization and geometrics; materials sampling; inspection and testing. Involves significant amount of decision making and use of judgment and includes providing work direction to others.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelors in Civil, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (4 year degree) or Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management (2 year degree) with ten (10) years of progressive technical experience.
  • PE license in the state of Florida
  • Six (6) years of major road or bridge construction experience
  • Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program.
  • Attend the CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination
  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction; and considerable knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry related to highway/transportation engineering.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000.00 to $210,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
