Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for our Transportation Construction, Engineering, and Inspection group. This on-site role supports project locations across multiple states, performing complex inspections and documenting results to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

The position requires high school or equivalent, 6 years of related experience, and a valid driver's license. Travel to project sites is expected, with opportunities for growth within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete may be required by client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge level for the assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
