Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for on-site field work at multiple project locations in the United States. The role focuses on complex and routine inspections of highway construction, ensuring materials and processes meet plans, specs, and provisions.

Travel between 20% and 40% may be required. The ideal candidate has 12+ years of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, and certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI if required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, concrete if required by the client.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to verify materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use advanced equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under limited or direct supervision depending on knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
