Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an on-site Inspector to perform complex construction inspections at project sites, covering roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion, and maintenance aspects. The role requires reading plans, tracking provisions, and communicating results to supervision.

Travel is expected at 20%–40% with a driver’s license required. Applicants should have a high school diploma, related experience (12+ years preferred), and relevant certifications (ACI/NICET).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACI/NICET certifications in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by client or jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies with duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to assignment complexity.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
