Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Field Inspector for our CEI team to perform on-site inspections of highway construction at multiple project sites. You will evaluate materials and processes against plans, review drawings, and communicate findings to supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications, with travel up to 40% depending on project demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications from ACI/NICET or state highway agency may be required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• 12 years of related experience; equivalent direct experience considered.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use specialized equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under varying supervision depending on knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and report inspection results to the supervisor.
