Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group is seeking an on-site inspector to support project sites across multiple states. This field position offers hands-on experience inspecting roadway, bridge and drainage work while collaborating with the CEI team.

The role requires reading plans, performing inspections, and communicating findings to the supervisor. Travel of 20-40% is expected, with opportunities to advance in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performing complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate appropriate materials and processes.
• Uses higher grade equipment and performs complex calculations for construction inspection.
• Works under supervision according to assignment.
• Reviewing drawings to prepare for the construction inspection.
• Documenting and communicating inspection results to the supervisor.
