Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. in South Carolina seeks a senior CE&I leader to grow and strengthen our transportation construction practice.

This high-visibility role requires leadership of field teams, strong relationships with SCDOT and contractors, and credibility on active projects and pursuits. As a Resident Construction Engineer, you will guide inspection, documentation, and project administration for SC transportation projects, while supporting future proposals and team positioning across the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience leading DOT transportation construction projects.
• Experience overseeing contractors, inspection teams, subconsultants, project documentation, materials compliance, and construction administration.
• Ability to work from South Carolina project locations and travel as needed.
• Knowledge of SCDOT standards, specifications, QA/QC procedures, and closeout expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction engineering and inspection for SCDOT projects in South Carolina.
• Oversee construction administration, inspection teams, contractor coordination, documentation, materials compliance, quality, schedule, issue resolution, and closeout.
• Support pursuit strategy, proposal development, and key personnel positioning for future SC opportunities.
• Drive business growth by building relationships that strengthen Mead & Hunt's presence in the region.
