Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. in Lexington, SC is seeking a CEI Project Manager to lead transportation construction projects within our Construction Services unit.

You will manage CEI contracts, budgets, scopes, and schedules while building relationships with clients and overseeing CEI staff on site visits. The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree and 10+ years of relevant experience (2 years at PM level) or 14+ years without a degree, plus a PE license in any state with ability to obtain SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in civil engineering or related field.
• 14+ years of relevant experience if no degree; PM-level exp if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager on transportation construction projects.
• Assist in managing current and prospective CEI contracts.
• Control project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Lead proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates.
• Site visits to construction projects; recruit, mentor, and manage CEI staff.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the project manager on transportation construction projects;
• Assisting in managing current and prospective CEI contracts;
• Controlling project budgets, scopes, and schedules;
• Developing and maintaining professional relationships with current and prospective clients
• Leading proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates;
• Site visits to construction projects; recruiting, mentoring, and managing project assigned CEI staff.

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

This position has the potential to evolve into a supervisory/management role for someone with the right aptitude for overseeing a team.

The successful candidate must have the following

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience with 2 of the 10 years at the project management level
• OR, if no degree 14+ years of relevant experience including two years at the project management level

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following

• A PE license in any state with ability to obtain in South Carolina within six months of start date
• Experience serving as the project manager/resident engineer on SCDOT projects
• Experience managing CEI projects, professional staff and inspection staff
