Job summary

Sand Cherry Associates in Colorado is seeking a Video Distribution Architect/CDN Video Engineer to lead strategy, architecture, design, and deployment of a large-scale terrestrial CDN for satellite video distribution in the US. Qualifications

• 10+ years designing, engineering, or operating large-scale video distribution networks.
• Experience with distributed CDN environments and carrier-grade video delivery architectures.
• Strong knowledge of terrestrial IP networking, traffic management, and capacity planning.
• Experience in CONOPS, monitoring strategies, and network management for large-scale networks.
• Experience with live/linear video delivery, packet recovery networks (RIST/ARQ), or media edge distribution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for CDN architecture, video distribution, IP transport, and recovery.
• Design and optimize a large-scale terrestrial CDN with resiliency for satellite video.
• Develop strategies to optimize last-mile bandwidth while controlling costs.
• Define CONOPS for terrestrial CDN and recovery networks to minimize complexity.
• Evaluate traffic engineering, capacity, and geographic distribution to cut costs.
• Design mechanisms to dynamically scale CDN capacity during demand spikes.
• Establish capacity planning, performance thresholds, and operational processes.
• Develop recovery capabilities to detect packet loss and reconstruct streams in real time.
• Define architecture standards for loss detection, transport, timing, monitoring, and reporting.
• Set recovery objectives, latency budgets, availability, and event reporting.
