Job summary

Amazon CloudFront in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the Video Delivery team. You will design, build, and operate distributed systems delivering video at global scale, with a focus on low latency and high reliability.

You will mentor others, influence architecture, and explore AI/ML approaches to optimize delivery. The role reports to the CloudFront Media & Entertainment group and involves collaborating across AWS to push streaming technology forward.

Qualifications

5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate distributed systems that deliver video on a global scale.
Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for video delivery infrastructure.
Own the full software development lifecycle — from requirements through deployment and operations.
Explore and apply AI/ML-driven approaches to optimize video delivery and quality of experience.
Leverage AI assisted development for fast prototyping, design and coding.
