Job summary

Centra Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist II (CDI II) to collaborate with clinicians and the HIM coding team to ensure documentation reflects severity of illness and risk of mortality. Responsibilities include timely reviews, query opportunities, and adherence to AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines, with ongoing professional development in CDI practices.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure is required and CCDS/CDIP eligibility is preferred.
• 2 years CDI experience; completion of CDI competency assessment with 95% accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in clinical knowledge including disease pathophysiology and use of PC/Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine accurate DRG assignment and SOI/ROM.
• Collaborate with clinicians and HIM coding team to improve documentation quality.
• Escalate non-responses to query per policy and ensure timely follow-up.
• Maintain production standards and adhere to AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines.
