West Virginia University Health System in the United States seeks a CDI Education Leader to oversee planning, development, and implementation of provider and staff education programs for inpatient and outpatient documentation improvement.

The role emphasizes audits, CMS compliance, mentoring CDI specialists, and collaboration with coding, revenue cycle, and clinical leadership to enhance documentation quality and revenue integrity.

Competenze

• Graduate of HIT or equivalent with RHIT/RHIA, or equivalent RN/LPN license per state.
• CDIP or CCDS certification required within one year of hire.
• Experience in inpatient acute care hospital coding or CDI supervision per license type.

Mansioni

• Plan, develop, and implement clinical documentation education for providers and staff.
• Provide ongoing education on documentation guidelines, regulations, and chart review.
• Serve as mentor and educator for CDI staff and develop apprenticeship/orientation programs.
• Analyze data to identify education gaps for providers and staff.
• Act as CDI expert resource to analytics, coding, revenue cycle and clinical teams.
• Promote CMS, Medicare documentation compliance and payer regulations.
• Participate in processes to improve services and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate quarterly quality audits of CDI workflow and identify education opportunities.
• Serve as super-user for CDI-related EHR systems and update policies.
