Job summary

Leidos seeks a part‑time to potential full‑time Field Service Engineer to deploy equipment across the Continental United States. Travel and flexible hours are required to support rapid response deployments and lab readiness.

You will lead 2–3 day deployments, handle sensor equipment, schedule logistics, and prepare initial lab testing materials while maintaining reports and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Active Top SECRET Clearance is required.
• Flexibility to work variable hours and travel up to 60% on short notice.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer focus and teamwork.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ability to write Status and After-Action Reports.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive long distances.
• Ability to fly up to 6 hours without layover; maintain a REAL ID or passport.
• Ability to access mechanical/HVAC spaces and perform field sensor installations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory, update status reports, track orders and repairs.
• Lead temporary deployments (2–3 day CONUS) for sampling and prep of lab testing.
• Handle sensor equipment, transport to sites, and install with minimal supervision.
• Schedule logistics including travel and shipping with customers.
• Collect environmental samples and prepare for initial lab testing.
• Follow customer instructions for collection and testing steps.
• Prepare after-action and periodic program reports.
• Schedule Preventive Maintenance and publish results.
• Secure equipment after task completion and arrange shipment back to storage facility.
