Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Senior Catering Manager for Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham, CT. You will develop and drive catering solutions to meet customer needs while collaborating with the Executive Chef on menus. Events span coffee services to VIP dining and Presidential occasions on and off campus.

You will supervise events, manage operations, and train associates, focusing on quality, sanitation, and cost controls across diverse settings.

Qualifications

• 4 years of food service experience including 2 years at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls and presentation.
• Financial, budgetary, and accounting skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet).
• ServSafe certified.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Manages catering event operations including logistics, sanitation, and related activities.
• Collaborates with the Chef on menu development.
• Trains staff on service techniques and presentation.
• Monitors labor and food costs per event.

Job Summary

Filling every occasion with great food and service! We are currently seeking a Senior Catering Manager for our premiere catering department at Eastern Connecticut State University in Windham, CT. Our Catering Manager will be responsible for developing and driving catering solutions to meet our customer needs, while working closely with the Executive Chef on menu development. Events encompass a diverse spectrum, spanning from coffee services to exclusive VIP dining occasions to Presidential events, hosted both on‑campus and off‑campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.


• Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility‑related activities.


• Works with the Chef in creating menus.


• Trains catering associates on service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.


• Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.


• Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.


• Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice‑related activities.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
