Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at George Washington University is hiring for a full-time Senior Catering Captain. The role entails supervising the Catering Department, preparing and serving food at functions, and possibly driving to deliver items.

Schedule is event-based and compensation ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour. Requirements include prior catering and leadership experience, and a valid driver's license with applicable permits where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees in the Catering Department and assists in the performance appraisal process.
• Determines workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meets with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements and address last-minute changes.
• Assembles and delivers food and supplies to the scheduled catering functions.
• Returns food, beverages, serving equipment and utensils to the catering facility.
• Distributes and collects customer comment cards at catered functions.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
• Cleans equipment and workstation; may interact with customers and resolve complaints gracefully.
• Follows sanitation and safety principles in handling food and equipment.
