Job summary

AIG in Boston is seeking a Catastrophe Research Manager to lead model validation and research for perils and regions. You will manage a team of analysts based in Bengaluru and collaborate with Moody’s, Verisk, KatRisk, and internal Cat Modelling Leaders to shape the company’s view of risk.

You will develop industry-leading analytics, present findings to senior management, and support regulatory engagements while advancing climate risk practice.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in catastrophe research or model development.
• PhD or Master’s degree in Climate Science, Natural Hazards, Applied Statistics, or a related subject.
• Experience with model reviews and validation for internal stakeholders and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead Model Validation & Research for specific perils and regions, managing and mentoring a team of research analysts/scientists based in Bengaluru, India
• Work with Cat Modelling Leadership to evaluate models, develop standardised best practices, and implement AIG’s view of risk worldwide
• Support end to end catastrophe model evaluation across the company: define and implement the AIG View of Risk; validate vendor models; propose adjustments; implement changes
