Job summary

AIG, a global leader in insurance, seeks a Senior Catastrophe Research Analyst to advance internal risk views for Natural Catastrophe, Terrorism and other perils. You will work with teams in the US and London, plus external vendors, to review peril-region models and validate approaches, driving analytics and model development across the organisation.

The role offers collaboration with Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Underwriting and ERM to share insights, and supports professional development

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Climate Science, Natural Hazards, or related field required.
• 3+ years in catastrophe research or model development required.
• Experience with catastrophe modelling science; ability to write model reviews and validation.
• Knowledge of climate change impacts on insurance and risk; ability to develop analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovative catastrophe risk research focusing on material peril regions.
• Develop standard practices and view of risk strategy across the organisation.
• End-to-end evaluation and validation of catastrophe models and vendor views.
• Collaborate with Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Underwriting and ERM to share insights.
