AIG's Catastrophe Research & Validation Team in New York seeks a Senior Catastrophe Research Analyst to lead review and ownership of peril region models, collaborating with global teams and external vendors to advance risk insights.

You will develop analytics, validate models, and support climate risk assessment with emphasis on clear communication of complex concepts and advancing industry-leading practices across the organisation.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Climate Science, Natural Hazards, Applied Statistics, or a related subject.
• 3+ years of catastrophe research or model development experience; RMS experience preferred.
• Excellent understanding of catastrophe modelling science; hands-on experience writing model reviews and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovative research on catastrophe risk, focusing on material peril regions for AIG.
• Support development of standardised best practices and risk views.
• Oversee end-to-end catastrophe model evaluation; implement AIG's view of risk.
• Validate new and existing vendor models; propose adjustments to vendor views.
• Implement model changes and upgrades; support climate change impact assessments.
• Collaborate with Risk Engineering, Actuarial, Underwriting, and ERM to share insights.
