Job summary

AVP•SEES Group in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic is seeking a clinically excellent cataract and anterior segment surgeon to join a referral-driven ophthalmology practice. This role emphasizes high-quality outcomes, sound surgical judgment, and collaboration with optometrists and medical colleagues.

Fellowship in cornea, glaucoma, or anterior segment is preferred but not required; professionalism and consistency matter most.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an Ophthalmology Residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
• Active Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date.
• DEA registration and unrestricted authority to prescribe medications.
• Demonstrated expertise in ophthalmic diseases and disorders.
• Strong clinical and surgical judgment with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-volume cataract and anterior segment surgery.
• Manage patients with glaucoma and ocular surface disease.
• Apply evidence-based surgical techniques and adopt new technologies.
• Maintain high standards of clinical excellence and surgical integrity.
• Communicate clearly with patients, optometrists, and referring physicians.
• Foster a culture of collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support shared-care models prioritizing patient outcomes and continuity.
