Job summary

Gregory Poole Equipment Company is seeking a Master Technician - Senior Start Up to commission and optimize CAT generator systems and integrate them with site power infrastructure. You will be the onsite technical authority for start‑ups, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and customer turnover.

The role requires deep CAT controls knowledge, experience with EMCP 2/3/4, Genset Controllers, paralleling controls, and CANbus/Modbus systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation in line with relevant

Qualifications

High School graduate; technical college degree preferred.
5-7+ years with generator packages, switchgear, and Automatic Transfer Switches (3+ years as a high level GPEC EPG Master Technician performer).
Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel and gas engine failures.

Responsibilities

Perform full initial start‑up on Caterpillar generator sets from 10 kW to multi‑megawatt units.
Program, configure, and troubleshoot Caterpillar control platforms and paralleling controls.
Validate governor/AVR parameters, load sharing, and paralleling logic.
Run load bank tests, waveform analysis, and transient response testing.
Lead on‑site safety, documentation, and customer turnover.
