Job summary

Sedgwick in the United States is seeking an experienced Casualty Desk Adjuster to handle Public Entity, EPL and CSA claims with complex coverage issues. You will assess exposures, manage investigations, and coordinate with defense counsel to drive efficient resolutions.

Required are 5–10+ years of related claims experience, a bachelor’s degree, and professional designations such as CPCU, AIC or ARM are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; adjuster licenses as required.
• Eight (8) years of related experience, including claims handling and coverage letters.
• Experience with personal and commercial lines across multiple states preferred.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, ARM are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops exposures and evaluates injury claims based on damages, the insurance contract, company policies, and applicable state laws.
• Investigates and evaluates coverage, liability and damages in handling of claims involving serious and catastrophic injuries, coverage, and other legal issues.
• Ensures timely referral of suits to counsel and evaluates changes in exposure through discovery; plan for trial or settlement.
• Manages defense counsel in litigation of serious and complex claims and complex coverage scenarios.
• Formulates plans to resolve claims focusing on indemnity and expense leakage.
• Evaluates coverage and drafts reservation of rights and coverage denials.
• Maintains proper reserves on all pending claims.
• Travel as required.
