The position requires 5–7 years of multi-line claims experience, a GED or higher, and ongoing education in insurance. A Hawaii driver’s license and knowledge of Hawaii statutes are preferred, with a strong emphasis on customer service and mentorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 5-7 years multi-line Claims Specialist experience required.
• College degree with credits in insurance-related subjects preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
• Continuing education in insurance and related topics required.
• Hawaii general adjusting license preferred.
• Hawaii driver's license and own vehicle required.
• Enrollment or completion of IIA, AIC or other insurance courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle claims from first notice to final disposition with minimal supervision.
• Review coverage, liability, and exposures for assigned claims.
• Investigate losses, manage litigation and negotiate settlements.
• Provide analysis of liability and damages and maintain detailed documentation.
• Mentor other claims professionals and provide technical guidance.
