Arch Insurance Group Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner, Casualty to manage high-severity commercial claims, including general liability, excess and umbrella policies.

The role requires strong negotiation, technical expertise, and service-driven performance in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include identifying coverage issues, coordinating with counsel, developing strategies, reviewing regulatory and case law, and managing reserves with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of working experience in lieu of degree.
• Proper & active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel when necessary.
• Develop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues aligned with overall matters entrusted.
• Develop and implement timely resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures.
• Maintain contact with claims staff, underwriters, counsel, and broker to communicate developments.
• Investigate claims and review insureds' materials, pleadings, and other documents.
• Review each jurisdiction's statutes, rules, and case law.
• Review litigation materials including depositions and expert reports.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages for reserves recommendations.
• Retain and direct counsel per resolution strategy.
• Travel to attend mediations, trials and other proceedings as needed.
• Negotiate resolution of claims.
• Maintain a diary of all claims and respond to inquiries promptly.
