Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Principal Casting & Metallurgical Engineer to lead technical initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. You will act as the subject matter expert for molten metal processing, casting technology, metallurgical troubleshooting, and process development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting casting, metallurgy, molten metal processing, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with casting process optimization, defect reduction, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for casting, melting, and molten metal processes across multiple locations.
• Lead complex debugging and troubleshooting of casting quality, metal recovery, process variability, and performance.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve quality, productivity, recovery, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with plant leadership, engineering, operations, quality, and R&D teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Lead cross-functional technology and process improvement initiatives.
• Analyze production data to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Support new technology evaluations and adoption of emerging casting processes.
• Train and mentor engineers, metallurgists, and operations personnel.
• Standardize technical practices and drive knowledge sharing across facilities.
• Support capacity improvement through process optimization and workflow enhancements.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
