Job summary

Jobot seeks a Principal Casting and Metallurgical Engineer to lead technical initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites in Maryville, TN. You will act as the expert for molten metal processing, casting technology, and metallurgical troubleshooting, guiding process development and operational excellence efforts.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelors in Metallurgical/Materials/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in casting, metallurgy, molten metal processing, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with casting process optimization, defect reduction, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: advanced degree and 7+ years experience in relevant fields.
• Experience with large-scale casting operations and metallurgical characterization is a plus.
• Six Sigma/Lean experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert for casting, melting, and molten metal processes across multiple sites.
• Lead complex troubleshooting for casting quality, metal recovery, process variability, and performance.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve quality, productivity, recovery, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with plant leadership, engineering, operations, quality, and R&D to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Lead cross-functional technology and process improvement initiatives.
