Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience including applicable corporate accounting or cash application experience
• Proven mid-level background in cash application, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Prior lead, supervisory, or process-ownership experience is highly preferred
• Strong foundational accounting knowledge including debits, credits, account balancing, and transaction analysis
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with rigorous attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to work independently, prioritize heavy workloads, and meet strict periodic deadlines

Responsibilities

• Process and apply daily customer payments from lockbox, ACH, wires, checks, and virtual cards across multiple entities
• Conduct in-depth research to resolve unapplied cash, unidentified payments, deductions, and chargebacks
• Reconcile cash received against cash applied on a regular basis, investigating and resolving variances
• Partner cross-functionally with Treasury, Collections, Credit, Customer Service, and Sales to clear payment discrepancies
• Support comprehensive month-end close activities, account balancing, and financial reporting requirements
• Maintain meticulous documentation of payment application decisions, customer accounts, and audit trails
• Monitor shared workflow queues and ticketing systems to maintain high-volume processing standards
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing accurate supporting documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow automation, and internal control enhancements
• Serve as an internal resource or lead for team members on complex remittance interpretation and system workflows
