Job summary

Help USA is seeking a Senior Case Manager to deliver emergency crisis intervention and housing support in New York City. You will coordinate with NYC DHS referrals, perform intakes, and advocate for clients to obtain benefits to sustain housing stability.

Responsibilities include field work, community outreach, and presenting to organizations, while mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance. Evening/weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledgeable of relevant state and county regulations.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in case management, assessment, counseling and crisis intervention preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and negotiation skills, including advocacy and mediation.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to take initiative, be dependable and resourceful, and pay attention to detail.
• Experience in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of family systems approach and team concepts preferred.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
• Willing to provide evening and weekend coverage.
• Valid US driver's license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency crisis intervention to individuals and families facing housing crisis.
• Assist urgent referrals from NYC Department of Homeless Services to prevent shelter entry.
• Engage in field work, community outreach, and presentations to organizations.
• Support Case Management Supervisor and team through collaboration and case conferences.
• Identify service gaps and develop linkages to improve housing stability.
• Mentor and lead Case Managers; co-facilitate trainings with supervision.
• Deliver Homebase presentations at community-based organizations.
