Job summary

SERCO, Inc. is seeking a Lead Career Coach (PATH) at the Highland Park American Job Center to supervise PATH activities and provide program assistance for eligible customers across the area.

The role includes interviewing, hiring, and training Career Services staff; in the Manager's absence, supervising center staff and addressing customer concerns; ensuring service plans meet customer needs and regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in social work, counseling, career planning, placement, or related field.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in social work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in WIOA, TANF, and employment and training program operations preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources; case management principles, objectives, standards, and methods; and program policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn and use MIS and other reporting systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
• Ability to make frequent visits to customers' homes and training providers' sites.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, administration, and other employees verbally and in writing.
• Must possess and provide a valid Michigan Driver's License. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and have access to reliable transportation in order to perform required fieldwork responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise PATH activities and program assistance for eligible customers.
• Interview, hire, and train Career Services staff; supervise in the Manager's absence.
• Provide technical support on customer assessment, eligibility, and barriers to employment.
• Ensure service plans meet customer needs according to policies and regulations.
• Identify problem areas and service gaps and recommend plans of action.
• Assist in ensuring program goals and objectives are met as specified by funding sources and the Corporation.
• Report to the supervisor on program progress and matters of concern.
• Meet with staff regularly to discuss program participant progress, concerns, or other related issues.
• Ensure individual case files meet program eligibility requirements and are kept current.
• Conduct periodic reviews of case files and home visits.
• Make recommendations to management on policy and procedure changes.
• Compile program statistics and prepare related performance and progress reports.
