Job summary

Shalom Parkside Senior Living in Richmond, VA is seeking a dependable Van Driver to transport residents to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community outings, ensuring safety and comfort.

You will assist residents in boarding, perform vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, communicate with staff and families, and provide courteous service while representing the facility in the community.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving a passenger van, shuttle, or medical transport preferred.
• Ability to assist residents with wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility devices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to pass all required background screenings and driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, dialysis treatments, and community outings
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility limitations
• Ensure residents are transported in a safe, comfortable, and timely manner
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of facility transportation vehicles
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and facility transportation policies
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, schedulers, residents, and families
• Provide exceptional customer service while representing the facility in the community
