Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Resident Care Associate (RCA) in Old Saybrook, CT. The role supports residents in Assisted Living/Memory Care with daily activities, follows individual care plans, and documents services to uphold dignity and quality of life.

This is a full-time position with weekend availability and a comprehensive benefits package. The RCA serves as a Culture Ambassador, embodying our core values and collaborating with the care team to enhance residents' well‑being.

Qualifications

• CNA or HHA certification required.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid as needed.
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Commitment to resident dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Directly assist residents with daily tasks and update the Resident Care Director.
• Aid residents with mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Make routine rounds to meet needs per individualized care plans.
• Assist with lifts and transport using proper body mechanics or devices.
• Maintain skin integrity by turning and repositioning incontinent residents.
• Document daily care activities per policy and standards.
• Report resident issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff per policies.
• Familiarize with care plans and support accordingly.
• Contribute insights to care planning with observations of residents.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Provide physical, emotional, and psychosocial support.
• Adhere to residents' rights and report any abuse or rights violations.
• Implement safety and infection control procedures and hand hygiene.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain regular communication with the Resident Care Director.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned.
