Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, MA seeks a Transportation Driver to provide safe, reliable shuttle and on-demand transport across our 160+ acre campus, serving residents, staff, and visitors.

You will ensure passenger safety, assist with mobility aids, maintain vehicle readiness, and coordinate with the Transportation Coordinator. This on-site role requires a Class D license, English proficiency, and the ability to handle emergencies with calm professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and ability to operate community vehicles.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
• Minimum of three years of related work experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Be prepared to obtain BLS/EMT or First Responder certification within six months of hire; certifications provided in-house.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist passengers on and off the bus with hospitality.
• Assist residents with mobility aids during boarding and exiting.
• Follow written requisitions or verbal instructions to complete tasks.
• Prioritize work requests based on urgency.
• Follow safety regulations at all times.
• Ensure passengers are properly dropped off and screened at main entrances.
• Report unsafe equipment immediately to supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility and patient information per HIPAA.
• Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled trips to prepare the vehicle, especially in extreme weather.
• Schedule all vehicle maintenance and inspections.
