Job summary

Village on the Park Onion Creek is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to provide compassionate care for residents in our independent living and assisted living community. You will administer medications, monitor responses, and maintain accurate records in EMR while fostering a warm, homelike atmosphere.

The role requires a CNA with state-approved Medication Assistant Certification, CPR, and 6 months to 1 year of senior care experience. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant with state-approved Medication Assistant Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor residents' responses, and notify the Director of Resident Care of any concerns.
• Assist residents with medication according to procedures and supervise self-administration.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, including medication distribution, incidents, and changes in resident condition.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medicine supply room.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
