Job summary

Prestwick Care Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant for a full-time, in-person role at our Alnwick care home. You will lead a care team, deliver person-centred care and uphold high standards of wellbeing and safety for residents.

The role offers full training, progression opportunities and a supportive environment with EAP and staff discounts. You will supervise staff, develop care plans, and ensure regulatory compliance through effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Carer or Team Leader in a care home/nursing/residential setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate staff while delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents, ensuring comfort, dignity and safety.
• Supervise, mentor and support junior care staff and promote best practices.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
• Assist residents with daily living activities including mobility, bathing, dressing and meals.
• Monitor and report residents’ condition and escalate concerns as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in audits, handovers and team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards and safeguarding policies.
