Job summary

Southland Health & Rehab is seeking a kitchen/food service associate to prepare meals per dietician menus and operate standard kitchen equipment. You will ensure timely service, follow infection control policies, and maintain clean working areas in a supportive healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepares foods according to the menu created by dieticians.
• Operates kitchen equipment (mixer, slicer, oven, steamer).
• Cleans surfaces and stores unused foods.
• Ensures meals are prepared and served on time.
• Follows standardized recipes and diet orders.
• Records temperatures and checks stock levels.
• Supports tray line service and substitutes as needed.
