Job summary

The Dietary Cook at Arbors at Springfield is responsible for preparing meals for residents and staff, following dietary requirements and safety guidelines. The role rewards attention to detail, compassion for seniors, and the ability to work in a healthcare setting with a caring team.

You will review menus, prepare regular and therapeutic diets, ensure proper portioning and temperature, and help maintain a clean, compliant kitchen.

Qualifications

• Minimum of tenth grade or above.
• GED or High School Diploma or above preferred.
• Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation; therapeutic diet experience preferred.
• ServSafe-style food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Prepares and portions food to meet residents’ needs and preferences.
• Maintains sanitary procedures and safe handling of food.
• Ensures foods are served at the proper temperature and attractive for residents.
