Job summary

Alger Heights Senior Living Facility in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Resident Aide to provide compassionate care to residents. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health changes, and ensuring medication documentation is accurate.

You will participate in orientation and training, receive paid time off starting day one, and enjoy room for growth and employee recognition events. Candidates must be 18+, pass background checks, and be able to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Driver’s license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (transfers, bathing, dressing, toileting, walking).
• Maintain cleanliness, light housekeeping as needed.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Monitor residents for changes and inform supervisor.
• Assist with repositioning and meal trays.
• Accurately document medications.
• Provide safe, compassionate client care.
• Support other team members as needed.
• Respond to call lights and assess needs promptly.
• Attend orientation and training.
