Job summary

Macatawa Senior Living Facility in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Resident Aide to provide compassionate care and support to our residents. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health changes, document medications, and maintain a safe, comfortable environment. This role requires excellent communication, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly is a plus.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and valid ID.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Providing assistance to residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, and walking
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the environment which may involve light housekeeping duties
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures
• Monitoring for changes in residents’ conditions and promptly communicate any changes to the supervisor
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Adhering to procedures regarding documenting of medications accurately
• Utilize good judgment in providing client care and ensuring their safety
• Assisting other team members with their duties as necessary
• Responding to call lights and assess residents’ needs promptly
• Obtain meal trays and assist with eating
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
