Job summary

Allegria Village in Dearborn, MI seeks a Medication Technician to support residents in our assisted living community. This role covers medication administration, monitoring health, documentation, and compassionate resident support. Flexible shifts include full-time and part-time across mornings, afternoons, and nights.

Applicants should have 6+ months of Med Tech experience, a Med Tech Certification, and strong communication in English. CPR is preferred; HIPAA privacy must be maintained.

Qualifications

• Med Tech Certification
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to act quickly in emergencies
• English communication skills (verbal and written)
• HIPAA privacy knowledge/ability to maintain confidentiality
• CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with the self-administration of prescribed medications
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration (right resident, drug, dose, time, route, and documentation)
• Monitor resident health (vital signs, symptoms) and promptly report any concerns
• Record medication administration accurately in the MAR
• Ensure medication carts, cabinets, and rooms are organized, clean, and fully stocked
• Audit medication carts daily and ensure timely medication reorders
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
• Respect residents’ rights to dignity, privacy, and medication refusal
• Identify and report any adverse reactions or health concerns
• Help prevent infection through proper procedures and hygiene
• Maintain documentation and complete paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
• Support residents’ evolving care needs with prompt attention
• Other duties as assigned

Shifts Available:

Requirements:

To be considered, candidates must have:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medication Technician in an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility

Education & Certification:

• High school diploma or GED required
• CPR certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and typing
• May have exposure to individuals with communicable diseases
