Job summary

West Valley Post Acute in Los Angeles is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and delivering a creative activities program for residents, in accordance with federal, state, local and corporate standards.

You will assist with calendar development, group and individual activities, coordinate outings, and help with assessments and care plans, while promoting resident participation and well‑being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer at least one year in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures and manuals.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff, residents and families.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for individuals and groups.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents and families.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with assessments and care plans for residents.
• Coordinate transportation and outings for residents when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe activity area and document progress.
