Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Director (Non Recreation Therapist) to plan, organize, develop, and direct quality activities for patients, ensuring that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of each patient are met in accordance with Life Care standards.

In this role you will work with a multidisciplinary team in a post-acute care setting, supervise activities staff, manage schedules, and maintain patient engagement while adhering to laws

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in a social recreation program within the last five years, one of which was full time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
• Completed State approved activity training
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred

Responsibilities

• Fulfill core competencies of licensed position and provide clinical oversight within discipline and in accordance with rehab practice standards
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education)
• Make daily rounds to ensure activities team is performing to standards and patient needs are being met
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior
• Escort patients to and from activities
• Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
• Effectively manage and operate within budget
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
