Job summary

MUSC Health in Columbia, SC seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist II to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive cath lab. You will support basic diagnostic catheterizations and interventional procedures and serve as a resource to staff.

This role requires certification (RCIS/RCES/CEPS/RT(R)CI) within 2 years of hire and BLS, plus a minimum of one year in invasive cardiovascular technology.

Qualifications

• RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent; one year of experience in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Telemetry and arterial/venous sheath removal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties for cardiac interventions with or without assistance.
• Performs procedures for left and right heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
• Gowns, glows, and sets up back table with necessary equipment.
• Records hemodynamics and documents event logs accurately.
• Maintains ECG setup and rhythm monitoring.
• Assists in preparing room for safe patient care and checks safety equipment.
