Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist II to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive catheterization environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, RCIS/RCES/CEPS/RT(R)CI certification within 2 years, and a BLS certification. 40-hour workweek with hourly pay; experience in telemetry and arterial/venous sheath removal is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Certifications: RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI within 2 years.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Telemetry and arterial/venous sheath removal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
• Performs scrub duties for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
• Ability to scrub, gown, glove and set up back table with necessary equipment.
• Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics and documents events in MacLab event log.
• Maintains ECG setup and rhythm monitoring.
• Maintains basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
• Assists in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe, effective care of patient.
• Performs required checks on all safety equipment.
• Ensures adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
• Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
