Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Spokane, WA seeks a cardiologist to provide comprehensive cardiac care in a busy medical center.

You will perform inpatient and outpatient services, supervise staff, and participate in education of medical students and residents. This full-time position includes a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent trained in internal medicine and cardiology.
• Must have or be eligible for ABIM board certification in cardiology.
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of supervisor duties and manage employee performance.
• Provide comprehensive medical services for outpatients.
• Attend Medicine Service meetings and collaborate with staff.
• Diagnose, treat and manage patients with cardiovascular disease.
• Provide outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care.
• Perform echocardiography and cardiac stress testing when required.
• Interpret ECGs, Holter and event monitor data.
• Maintain credentials, state license, and DEA registration.
• Educate medical students and residents; participate in evaluations.
• Maintain BLS/ACLS certification and participate in quality programs.
