Job summary

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship? (as per VA requirements)
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US state/DC
• Residency training in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Board eligibility/certification by ABIM required
• VA-specific credentialing and licensure requirements as applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of supervisor duties and managing employee performance
• Provide comprehensive medical and selected specialty services for outpatients
• Attend Medicine Service meetings and meetings with other medical center staff
• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with cardiovascular disease
• Provide outpatient and inpatient cardiology consultations and ongoing management
• Perform ECGs, echocardiograms, stress testing and related cardiology procedures as needed
• Maintain documentation in EMR per facility policy
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and other staff
• Participate in education of medical students and residents
• Maintain required VA credentials, state license, and DEA registration
